The Feltman Reunion

Dear Family,

Planning for our 2010 Feltman Reunion is underway.  We wanted to get the word out early so everyone could put it on their calendars and start their personal planning for it.

The dates will be July 16 - 18, 2010 and the location will be where our family roots began, Newberry, South Carolina.  Newberry has revitalized the downtown area and encouraged it's citizens to place in memorial the Notable Americans who contributed to the area by placing paving bricks with their names on them in the courtyard of the Opera House.  Thanks to Harley Feltman you can see that some of our ancestors have already been memorialized there.

Our plans are to highlight our genealogy at this reunion by presentations, historical stops and visits, and local accounts (may have an historian speak to the group).  Additional info about Newberry can be viewed on line at http://www.cityofnewberry.com/.  If you go on-line click “area attractions” on the homepage to see what the area offers.

A “block of rooms” has been set up at the Newberry Hampton Inn under the name of “Feltman Family Reunion”.  The Inn is giving us special group rates at $94.00 per night.  Below is a photo of the Hampton Inn.

As we said earlier, the reunion date is set for July 16-18, 2010.  When making your reservations please refer to the Feltman Family Reunion.  To make reservations call 1-800-426-7866.  We encourage you to go ahead and make your reservations so we can add rooms to our block if needed.

July 17 will be the “Reunion of Families” day at "George’s Place", a local caterer with great food and a great meeting facility near Pomaria, SC.  Pomaria was the home of Nancy Harriet Reed Glymph, Thomas Feltman's wife and mother of his children.

We are well out front on the reunion.  More details will be forthcoming and a reminder will be mailed out about a month before the event giving more information about the locations where we will gather as a group for discussions and to trade information.

The reunion in Hodges was a tremendous success and we know this one will be even better. We are looking forward to seeing all of you again and meeting newly found relatives.

We hope every one can come to Newberry!
